Requirements to Become a Driver for Hire


If you are interested in being a driver for hire, there is some good news! To be eligible to do so, all drivers must meet the following requirements: they need at least 20/40 vision both eyes (uncorrected), have not had their license suspended or revoked within past 5 years and no major violations on record.


New requirements for drivers of ride-sharing services. Starting this year, a potential hire will need to have at least two years' driving experience and be able to pass both the company's background check as well as the state driver’s license test before being allowed behind the wheel.
